Krenz "Reborn" CD

Tracks on “Krenz Reborn” reach classic, early dubstep, breakbeat, jungle or trip hop, yet treat them with a personal, slightly deconstructing touch. At first it seems you’ve heard it before, but you quickly realize it’s not really it.

Krenz breaks down each genre to its core elements and distills them, adding his own influences, forming frankly, a completely new sound. Contestation of the classic is a manifestation of the new. “Krenz Reborn” slaps you hard, yet with affection.

Same goes for the album artwork. Milan Wagwan draws from classic CD design motifs and symbols and his visual understanding of the album, remodelling associations.

Various symbols, deconstructed, appear throughout the object and inside the booklet, resembling the originals but not being them. Everything forms and dissolves constantly, always leaving traces of vague resemblance.
